Hi, it's Nurse Jerelle

Jerelle Cox (she/her/mama) is a Registered Nurse, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and Childbirth Educator with over two decades of experience in maternity, infant child health care, labor and delivery, NICU, and pediatrics.

“Having this vast knowledge and experience has prepared me to grow in my lactation expertise, teaching families along with growing their families. I want to see babies have the blessed beginnings that they need to thrive and grow for the future. My passion is to advocate for parents to have a healthy maternal care experience and normalize human milk feeding with parents’ choosing to breast/chest and pump feeding around the globe. I also mentor future lactation consultants to assist mothers in their lactation journey and obtain the required hours of observed lactation consultants in order to sit for the boards.”

Specialty Skills

Compassion

I serve all families with the care and patience to guide to your feeding goals and make plans specific to your needs. I have been creating nursing/feeding care plans and educating families on what works best in their individualized situation for years. I also devise cooperative plans on returning to work as needed.

Collaboration

I can collaborate with your Obstetrician or Midwife, provide visit information to your pediatrician and make referrals if needed to any specialist for further evaluation of feeding difficulties i.e. tongue ties, myotherapy, infant bodywork.

Emotional Stability

As a Lactation Consultant my training goes beyond just in the technicalities of breastfeeding but also in creating a supportive environment that acknowledges and validates your feelings. Feel free to share your thoughts, concerns, or triumphs with me, as we work together to ensure your lactation journey is not only physically successful but emotionally fulfilling. Your well-being matters, and I’m here to provide a safe and understanding space for you during every step of your breastfeeding journey.
